How to write a research paper that will definitely not pass peer review (and might not even reach it)

Many early-career researchers find themselves in a challenging position: hey are expected to demonstrate strong research productivity to advance professionally, yet few receive adequate support in achieving this. This workshop aims to address the essential topics every researcher must navigate, topics that are often underrepresented or insufficiently covered in formal academic training.
Workshop topics include:

  • how to determine whether your research topic is current and relevant,
  • how to structure your paper to meet the standards of high-quality scientific journals,
  • what the typical structure of a research article looks like, and
  • how to reduce the likelihood of a desk rejection (i.e., the editor declining the submission before it reaches peer reviewers).
